Thank you to everyone who voted for Fringe's room as their favorite at the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse! We are honored to have been chosen for this year's People's Choice Award.   Just by spending an hour or two touring seven standout apartments in downtown Milwaukee you will be helping to make strides in the fight against breast and prostate cancer. This year, in their efforts to raise money to fight cancer, the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse invited Milwaukee's most celebrated designers to transform seven units in the new Plankinton Clover Apartments in the former Grand Avenue Mall downtown into a stunning urban oasis. Come and see the designers’ special touches while supporting a good cause! The apartments are located at 161 W. Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee and are open for viewing daily from June 1 through 16. Fringe has discounted tickets available for purchase for $25 ($30 at the door); cash or check only please. The Washington County Humane Society’s (WCHS) mission is to protect animals from suffering and cruelty, to provide care for animals afflicted by neglect and abandonment, and to enhance the lives of animals and people through education, adoption and compassion. Since WCHS does not euthanize for space nor does it receive government funding or any funding from state or national humane organizations, donations are a necessity to the shelter.

Why they need your help:
- Since they do not euthanize for space and do not put a time limit on adoptable animals, they can remain in care for many, many months, sometimes surpassing a year.
- The average approximate length of stay of dogs is 2-3 weeks, while cats are closer to 2-3 months due to the large volume.
- The approximate average cost to care for a dog until it’s adopted is $350, with a cat ranging from $750-$1000. Multiply those numbers by 3,000, the average number of animals we care for each year, to see how the costs can really add up!
- In addition to general care, many of the animals need medical treatment for illness and injuries.
